Museums

Natural history museums are an indispensable resource for studying evolution, systematics, and global biodiversity. Nearly all evolution research relies in some way on museum collections, and as a researcher interested in processes that can play out over decades or over millennia, museums have played a particularly important role in my research.

 

I was jointly advised between the University of Maryland and the National Museum of Natural History, and I am a current Research Associate there, so museums have been important to my professional development, as well.

I am committed to responsible use of museum resources, augmenting museum collections whenever possible, and educating the public on the benefits of museums.
