Postdoc, Penn State University
I am an evolutionary biologist using (primarily, but not exclusively!) genomics to study proximate and ultimate evolutionary mechanisms behind sexual signaling. I leverage the natural crossing and backcrossing that occurs in hybrid zones to uncover the genetic and molecular basis of sexual traits under selection in wild non-model organisms. I also investigate how interbreeding between species contributes to sexual trait evolution. Museum collections, including both genetic samples and preserved specimens, are a major component of my research. I am currently a postdoc at Penn State University working on phylogenomics, gene flow, plumage coloration of New World warblers. For more details about my previous and current work, see the Research tab above.
