Kevin Bennett
Postdoc, Penn State University
I am an evolutionary biologist using genomics to study evolutionary mechanisms of sexual signals. I leverage the natural crossing and backcrossing that occurs in hybrid zones to uncover the genetic and molecular basis of sexual traits under selection in wild non-model organisms. I also investigate how interbreeding between species contributes to sexual trait evolution. Museum specimens, including both genetic samples and study skins, are a major component of my research. I am currently a postdoc at Penn State University working on phylogenomics, gene flow, plumage coloration of American warblers. For more details about my previous and current work, see the Research tab above.
