I am an evolutionary biologist using genomics to study adaptation, speciation, and sexual selection. I leverage the natural crossing and backcrossing that occurs in hybrid zones to address difficult evolutionary questions in non-model organisms. My research interests include adaptive introgression, genomic consequences of strong sexual selection, the mechanisms behind plumage color variation, and bird migration. Museum specimens, including both genetic samples and study skins, have been a major component of my research. I am currently a postdoc at Penn State University working on phylogenomics of American warblers. For more details about my dissertation and current work, see the Research tab above.
